Who we are

Lead Signal Ltd is a company registered in the UK, company number 17058968. Our registered address is Apartment 7, 7b Hall Gate, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN1 3LU. We're registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration reference ZC190194.

We're the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, except for homeowner enquiries — see below, where we're a processor acting for one of our clients.

What we collect, and why

Homeowner enquiries

When a homeowner uses one of our clients' Instant Estimate Calculators, we collect their name, email address, phone number, postcode, the measurements of the project they're pricing up, and their budget.

We collect it for one purpose: to pass a qualified enquiry to the trades business whose calculator they used.

For this data we act as a data processor, not the controller. The trades business whose calculator you used is the controller — they decide what happens to your enquiry. You can contact us about it and we'll help, but that business is the right place to start.

We hold it for as long as that business is an active client of ours. If they stop using the calculator, we delete it within 7 working days.

Enquiries through this website

When you fill in the form on our contact page, we collect your business name, the type of work you do, your team size, your email address and your message.

We use it to respond to your enquiry, and we keep it for 90 days.

Client account data

For trades businesses who subscribe to us, we hold the business name, a contact name, email address, phone number and billing details. We use it to provide the service and to bill for it. We keep it for 90 days after you cancel.

Payments are handled by Stripe. Card details go straight to them — we never see full card numbers.

Website analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how this site gets used — which pages people read, where they lose interest. Text input is masked, so we don't record what visitors type. We also use Vercel Web Analytics for page view numbers.

Marketing

We advertise on Meta platforms. This site loads the Meta pixel, which reports page views and checkout starts back to Meta so we can measure whether our advertising is working.

Business contact data

We hold business contact information about UK companies in the trades sector — driveway, landscaping and related trades. This is company-level information: company name and number, trading address and service area, business phone number, business email address, website and public social media profiles, and in some cases the name and role of a director listed publicly.

We don't collect this from you directly. We compile it from publicly available sources — Companies House, public business directories, and publicly accessible company websites and business social media profiles — and we verify and update it over time from those same sources.

We use it to contact businesses about our own services, and to build advertising audiences on platforms such as Meta so that adverts for products and services relevant to the trade are shown to businesses likely to be interested in them. Where we run campaigns for a client, we operate the audience ourselves — we don't pass our records to clients, and we don't sell them.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests. Our interest is in marketing relevant business products and services to businesses likely to want them. We've assessed that against the rights of the people concerned and concluded the processing is limited in scope, directed at people in their professional capacity, relevant to their trade, and unlikely to cause harm or distress. You can ask us for a summary of that assessment.

We keep records for as long as the business appears to be actively trading and the information stays relevant. We review periodically and remove entries that are out of date or no longer trading.

If you'd rather we didn't hold your business details or use them for advertising, email enquiries@info-leadsignal.com and we'll remove you. You don't need to give a reason, and we'll keep a minimal record of the request so it isn't undone by a later update.

Who else handles your data

We use a small number of suppliers to run the service. They handle data on our instructions, for the purposes below and nothing else.

• Google Maps — mapping inside the calculator
• Google Sheets — lead delivery, for some clients

Data leaving the UK

Some of the suppliers above are based in the United States, so some personal data is transferred outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the appropriate safeguards required by UK data protection law.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for the following.

• Access — ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — ask us to correct data that's wrong or incomplete.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data.
• Restriction — ask us to stop using your data while something is sorted out.
• Portability — ask us to send your data to you, or to someone else, in a portable format.
• Objection — object to us using your data in a particular way.

To exercise any of these, email enquiries@info-leadsignal.com. Where we're acting as a processor for one of our clients — which is the case for homeowner enquiries — we'll pass your request on to them and help them answer it.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
